Six held by forces from different places
The Bishnupur district police commandos have apprehended three UG activists from different areas of Bishnupur in two separate counter insurgency operations. A release of the SP Bishnupur said commandos of the district police along with the troops of 4/8 GR apprehended two cadres of PREPAK in a counter insurgency operation conducted at Keinou Thongkha on July 4.
The apprehended persons were Chongtham Somokanta @ Michael, aged 35 years, s/o Ch. Shamungou Sungh of Wabagai Tomal Makhong and Khaidem Naoba Singh @ Chaoba, aged 27 years, s/o Kh. Kullachandra Singh of Uripok Ningthoukhongjam Leikai, said a release of SP Bishnupur. In another operation conducted by a team of Nambol police station and CDO-BPR, one cadre of KCP (City Meitei), namely Loitam Jiten @ Idu, aged 35 years, s/o L. Bokulo of Utlou Mayai Leikai, was arrested from Bishnupur Bazar on July 3, added the release.
In the meantime, troops of 12 MARATHA LI of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR(S) apprehended two PULF (Azad) terrorists at around 12.10 pm in Bengun, on July 4. The arrested militant has been identified as Chesam Ayazudin, 45 yrs, s/o Abdul Samat, of Bengun Mamang and Bogimayum Manawar, 27 years, son of A B Salam, of Bengun Mamang Leikai. One hand grenade was recovered from them, according to a release.
